Architecture & Pipeline
How a fix works
No servers, no queues, no cloud upload. Every video re-encode, photo compression, and audio cleanup happens directly inside your browser tab.
The 3-Step Pipeline
Drop the file
Your file is read directly into your browser's local memory via the File API. It never gets uploaded to any remote server.
Configure your limit
Select the target size (e.g. 16MB for WhatsApp, 200KB for government forms), choose your aspect ratio, or scrub private metadata.
Download the fix
The processed file is compiled directly in the tab and saved straight to your device's Downloads folder. Original stays untouched.
Under the Hood: Web Technologies
Fixbun leverages modern open-web standards that eliminate the need for centralized processing servers.
WebCodecs & Hardware Acceleration
Modern browsers can decode and re-encode video and audio frames using your computer's native GPU/CPU codecs without third-party plugins.
Client-Side Zero-Transit Processing
All pixel manipulation, resizing, and metadata scrubbing happen in memory. No file chunks, bytes, or identifiers ever cross the network.
WASM & Canvas Pipelines
Image processing pipelines and AI cutout models execute entirely through WebAssembly and HTML5 Canvas running sandboxed inside your tab.
Web Audio Processing
Audio cleaning, noise gating, silence trimming, and loudness normalization are executed natively via the Web Audio API.
Check your browser's Network tab
Open your browser's Developer Tools (F12 or Cmd+Option+I), navigate to the Network tab, and drop any file. You will see 0 outbound upload requests.
